This week we listed a very unique property that we are excited to share with you. 936 Hymettus Ave will be a brand new ocean view dream home in Leucadia projected for a 2024 completion. Designed to maximize views and preserve privacy, this new construction home combines modern minimalism with ultimate luxury, and encourages indoor-outdoor living less than one mile to the beach. More info below, and visit the full listing to see the current lot, views, and gorgeous renderings! The ocean view lot and plans are also available for sale for $2.7 million.
We also had two closings this week. The first was for the buyers of 7542 Circulo Sequoia in La Costa! Though their home search had its challenges in this competitive market, they kept pushing forward with clear eyes on their end goal. With such exquisite taste, we realized these clients needed to buy a property where they could make their own improvements. This La Costa Oaks home was the clear winner with so much potential and such a great layout, and we can’t wait to see how they transform it into the most beautiful showcase!
Our second closing this week was our Via Di Felicita listing; a gorgeous single story Olivenhain home with the most meticulous entertainer’s backyard. Our wonderful clients have had true pride of ownership while living there, and we couldn't have had happier buyers because of it. Part two of their journey will be helping them downsize into the perfect, yet smaller and more manageable, single story nearby.
For this week’s market update, we love the story that our colleague and OC referral agent shared this week on Instagram :
In 2007, we brought our first son home to our cute little house in East Side Costa Mesa.
We had bought that house with the home equity we had achieved from the sale of our first condo purchase. We bought that first condo in 2002 at 7.5% interest. We bought our East Side Costa Mesa home at 6.5% interest.
In 2009, at the slump of the market, we sold that East Side home to buy our first home in Newport Beach. Did we lose money? Yes; but only the equity we had gained from our original condo sale. This enabled us to get into our dream neighborhood at a rate of 5.5% interest.
As my son approaches his 15th birthday, & our other kids are running down the halls of our home, ask me if I regret any of those purchases or any of those interest rates? Heck no. I have built a community, a home and a family. People have different reasons for buying a home. But what I have learned after almost 20 years in real estate, is with any long term asset, you will never regret the purchase of your family home. From the 1970's to present, mortgage rates have risen & fallen, with the current 30-year fixed rate still low, but yes on the rise. Is it a great time to buy? I would answer emphatically hell yes. We finally have a more balanced market, something us agents were dying for over the past 18 months.
Have a wonderful first weekend of summer!
